This historic building was previously the home to Maine College of Art and the developer was seeking to renovate the building for this innovative, forward thinking client using historic re-use tax credits. SSA’s  strategy was to create dynamic modern office spaces, meeting rooms, digital media studios, presentation spaces and studio spaces within this beautiful building, contrasting new, high tech materials with the historic fabric of the existing building. We intentionally chose to touch the original form and detail of the building as lightly as possible.
